She is a certified Mountain Trail judge and a skilled dressage, western, and English equitation instructor.
Kristen Snyder rode her first horse “Polly” when she was 2½ years old. When she was 6 years old she was finally old enough to take lessons at the local riding academy where she learned beginning English and Western riding. By age 7 she had her first horse, an appendix quarter horse named “Leo.” In the late 1980’s Kristen was given a VHS tape of the 1984 Olympic Dressage Team performing individual Musical Freestyles (Kur). She watched the tape until it was so worn out she had to use scotch tape to hold it together. This began her long time love affair with Dressage. Kristen has been fortunate enough to work with top dressage trainers such as Maryanna Danielson, Sandy Howard, Gina Duran and Gerhard Politz.
As well as Dressage, during Kristen’s riding career she was fortunate enough learn many disciplines such as Reined Cow Horse, Western Pleasure, Endurance, NATRC, Three Day Eventing, Hunter/Jumper and Saddleseat riding. Each discipline provided unique challenges that fed Kristen’s desire to learn as well as helped her to mature into a well rounded riding instructor and horse trainer.
